Connecting with the organisers: Josh Moont
What's your role within the team?
I am one of the steering committee - my main project this year was an overhaul of the website to help share all the great content we’ve got coming in the clearest way - as always its a work in progress so we’d love your feedback.
What do you do when you're not organising AngularConnect?
I’ve just started a new job and am now the tech co-founder of an early stage startup called Scooots (scooots.com if you're interested!) - we are building a marketplace that matches businesses with delivery drivers.
What are you most looking forward to at AngularConnect 2016?
I’m looking forward to meeting loads of new people, both developers and speakers, thats one of the reasons we setup the conference! The Angular community is so friendly and it makes it a great few days. Also I’m really excited about the new 5 track format and I’m hoping people will take advantage of the extra content available.
What's your top tip for people looking to run their own conference or meetup?
Don’t go it alone - work with a great team and discuss your ideas - be prepared to make mistakes and build on them. I also think its really important to do this for the community and not for yourself - but by doing that I think you gain so much more.
If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’m already quite picky by keeping strictly kosher and not eating meat - but if I was forced to choose - my kids would tell me to “rather have a bowl of coco pops” and I'd have to agree!
